Learning from Home Platforms

We have many provisions for students to learn from home. Below are some platforms teachers may use to deliver learning. Teachers will contact students via their Department email to inform them of how to access their learning.

Students should already be familiar with the Student Portal.

Student Email

It is essential for students to regularly check their school email address for correspondence from teachers.

You can login through your portal.

Canvas

Canvas is an e-learning suite we currently use for Distance Education and some face-to-face classes.

You can login through your portal - Canvas uses the same login as the Student Portal. Alternatively, go directly to camdenhaven.instructure.com

If you don't know your password try "changeme". If this does not work contact your teacher to have your password reset.

On the Canvas page if you have not automatically been logged in from the portal, click "Login with Microsoft". Use your school email, usually firstname.lastname#@education.nsw.gov.au

There are many guides on Canvas to support you.

Canvas for parents

Parents/carers can login to Canvas as an observer to access learning material and to see where your student is up to. See the Canvas Observer Guide for more info on how to get started.

Google Apps for Education

The G suite is used by some teachers to share and store classroom information.

Students can login through their portal. Alternatively go to any Google page and click "Sign In" at the top right hand side of the page. You may already be logged in to another Google account, in which case you can click the circle with letter in it (or profile photo) and select "Add another account". Sign in with your portal login, usually firstname.lastname#@education.nsw.gov.au

Once you have logged in you can select the square next to your initial to access apps. From the Student Portal, you can directly access the G Suite. Or you can go straight there by going to student-googleapps.education.nsw.gov.au/

Office 365

Microsoft Office 365 has a range of apps to support Learning from Home. Teachers may use the OneDrive to share and store files, Docs to write worksheets, Slides to display presentations, to name a few.

Students can login through their portal. You can also go straight to office.com and sign in with your portal login, usually firstname.lastname#@education.nsw.gov.au
