Futsal Teams Continue Success

Once again Camden Haven High School performed extremely well at the Zone futsal Championships held at Port Macquarie. This year there were teams from as far away as Armidale, Tamworth, and Coffs Harbour. We entered teams in all ages and reached the semi-finals in all divisions. Our boys and girls had great fun and played extremely well all day.

Our girls were a dominant force at these championships. Our under 13 girls won in extra time to be champions. Our 14 Girls were unluckily beaten by one goal in extra time to finish second. Our 16 girls won every game and easily won their final match to remain champions and our open girls played well and made the semi-finals where they were defeated by the eventual winners of the day.

Our boys also had some pleasing results. Our under 13 boys won all their games but suffered an unexpected loss 1-0 in their semi-final. Our under 14 boys and 15 boys made the semis and our under 16 boys saved their best game for last being narrowly defeated in the final 5-4 to finish second.

Thanks must go to the teachers who helped at these tournament days, to the parents who not only helped transporting these students but also many of whom stayed and watched their children run around and try their hardest.

Many teams will now compete at the regional championships in Coffs Harbour next term. Thanks to all the kids who listened and played with enthusiasm and commitment. Well done. We would also like to thank coach Mr Rod Rowe for supporting the students and coaching them to success.

Thank you Camden Haven Courier for publishing a story about our success!
