Tennis Team Progress Through State Competition

On Wednesday the 8th of May the open boys’ tennis team played in the 4th round for 2019 of the state-wide knockout competition against Wauchope in Kendall. The team consisted of Rhyan Hudson, Lachlan Eames, Jack Loveday and Colby Wilkinson. The Wauchope team were enthusiastic competitors, but no match for the Camden Haven High boys. The morning began with the doubles, Ryan and Colby won 6-0, and Lachlan and Jack won 6-2. All four boys won their singles Ryan won 6-0, Lachlan won 6-1, Jack played a challenging match and won 7-5 and Colby won 6-2.  The Camden Haven boys played and won both reverse doubles games with Rhyan and Colby winning 6-0 and Lachlan and Jack winning 6-1.  The final result was Camden Haven 49 games to Wauchope 11 games.  This year Wauchope High School was the only local public High School in the Lower North Coast Region that had a tennis team. The victory places the team in the knockout final against schools from the Northern Region of the NSW.  I would like to thank Wendy Hudson and the Kendall tennis club for supporting the Camden Haven High School tennis through the contribution of new tennis balls and allowing the teams to play on the courts for free.
