Ms Hogan’s Year 8 History recently examined medieval castles through a hands-on activity of building various home and scenes from the time period. Some of the students worked in groups to create a Motte and Bailey castle, a stone castle, a manor, and a castle town to demonstrate change and continuity in Medieval Europe.
Other students created individual buildings such as a cathedral, a keep and a peasant hut. It was amazing to watch such a talented group of students work together and use their problem solving skills to create their works in just a few hours using cardboard, glue, scissors and paint as the main items for construction.
