2022 Ninja Warrior

It’s Thursday the 28^th of July and everywhere except the Multi-purpose Centre it is a normal day at Camden Haven High. Students prepare for another barrage of academic stimulation and teachers lay waiting like poised lions ready to strike at the minds of tomorrow. Inside the MPC and it is a different world. Upstairs is swarming with people, busy trying to set the stage, downstairs dark and enigmatic. Random structures scatter the floor waiting to entertain and delight.  Seconds later the arena is neatly filled like a commercial airliner with buzzing students. The atmosphere whirs with excitement. Today our humble MPC is a colosseum. A brave few gladiators take their positions ready to push themselves to the limit. Some are here to enthral, some to strive for their personal best and some to conquer. The crowd roars as the first competitor assumes the starting position. 3….2……..1……… A once dormant learning space awakens with flickers of coloured light dancing across the floor, music blasts as if the audience had bought tickets to the greatest rock show on earth, the first athlete’s name flashes in neon lights and the sound of the announcer takes over the PA. The brave soul begins their journey into the perils of the 2022 Camden Haven High Ninja Warrior course. Swinging, leaping, prancing with equal quantities of elegance and brute strength. The first competitor is gallant and the crowd roars for their champion. A mistake is made, the buzzer sounds and the red light flashes. Within a millisecond, the course claims its first victim. This warrior need not feel despair, embarrassment or solitude as they are the first of many to feel the inexorable wrath of this brutal beast of a course.

Well done to all those fearless warriors who participated on the day.

A BIG thank you to the technical production team of lighting, sound and camera crew who turned the event into a spectacular show for us to enjoy!
