9 girls in Years 7 to 9 were invited to participate in the Engineers Australia Girls in Engineering Conference at Macquarie University on the last day of Term 3. The students were exposed to workshops highlighting many different types of Engineering. They also met successful female Engineers and learned about the need for more women being involved in all facets of Engineering in order to create more balanced research and design teams across the country and the planet.
Engineers Australia are the main sponsors of the Camden Haven Robotics Team and sponsored the students’ $1400 accommodation bill for the conference. Accompanying staff also got to make many valuable contacts.
